When I traveled to Ukraine to adopt my son it was definitely the end of my DINK (dual income no kids) freedom! I remember the orphanage workers putting my new son in my lap and he started to scream – I was at the time a complete stranger to him and he was scared. I remember thinking…"WHAT did I just agree to do?" I looked up to my husband and he had the same, "I think my life has just changed dramatically" look on his face. BOY! Nothing could have prepared me for that moment or the years that followed. Life would certainly never be the same again after adopting my now 9 year old son! Eight years and two more children later, I had no idea what the new chapters of my life would be like. It's been a roller coaster of a ride and the fun hasn't stopped yet!

I am so excited that it is Friday!  Sometimes the weeks can be really long, but this week was particularly long for me.  I am heading out of town for a weekend away to scrapbook with my friends.  Friday couldn’t get here fast enough!

I have not been on one of these weekend crops before so I’m especially excited.  I have printed all my pictures (1 1/2 years of them), gathered all my books and mementos, and packed all my tools.  Ready to go!!  Talk about working for the weekend!!

Never Forget

I will never forget what happened today (September 11th) 7 years ago.  I won’t forget where I was, how I heard, who told me, my first thoughts, and especially my prayers.  I was shocked that my first prayers were for the unsaved that might not make it out alive.  It really surprised me that I prayed for them first…but I shouldn’t have been surprised.  I have an evangelists heart and I want everyone to know the Lord that I know!  Here’s my borrowed prayer for the friends and families that are left behind and may not know the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.  I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!  Amen.” – Ephesians 3:14-21
